Self-taught for nearly 40 years, and now a full-time painter, I exhibit year-round at PONT-AVEN where I have my studio-exhibition. I have always lived by the seaside, first in Brest where I observed all these regattas and gatherings of boats, then all these small Breton ports in southern Brittany and of course the Glénan islands, where I found my inspiration.
My paintings
I often draw my inspiration from coastal landscapes, bustling ports, and boats sailing on tumultuous waters. My paintings stand out for their vibrant and deep colors, as well as attention to detail that gives each work its uniqueness.
I depict the maritime world with its blues, grays, and colorful hulls and sails. I only paint with oil, mainly with a palette knife, stretching the paint and simplifying the lines with flat areas of color.
